Graduate Student

Education

B.S. (Chemistry), Northeastern University, 2015

Biography

I have been a graduate student in the Larese group here at the University of Tennessee since January 2016. I was born and raised in Tulsa, OK for the majority of my childhood but graduated from Piedra Vista High School in Farmington, NM in 2008. Shortly thereafter, my family and I moved back to Tulsa, OK where I began taking classes at Tulsa Community College. In the fall semester of 2010 I decided to continue my education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. Ultimately, I obtained a B.S. in Environmental Health and Safety Management (Fall 2013) as well as an ACS certified B.S. in Chemistry (Spring 2015).

Research

In a general sense, my research interests are primarily focused on spectroscopy, chemical kinetics, and thermodynamics. My reason for wanting to work for Dr. Larese is due to his extensive knowledge and experience with neutron scattering. Ideally, I would like to apply my knowledge of environmental regulations and physical chemistry to study gas-solid interfaces of airborne contaminants using neutron scattering techniques.
