One of the primary strengths of the Larese Research Group is the development of well-trained experimentalists. While we collaborate with numerous researchers around the globe, many aspects of our research are handled in-house. Students and post-docs in the group learn to design and build their own instruments, synthesize and prepare their own samples, and travel to large user facilities to conduct their own neutron or x-ray experiments.
About the Lab
The Larese Research Group has laboratories at the Joint Institute for Advanced Materials (JIAM) at Cherokee Farm and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Joint Institute for Neutron Science (JINS) with research projects ranging from basic science in chemistry, physics, and geochemistry, to applied projects in catalysis and environmental science as well as computation.
