Biography
My name is Andrew Pedersen and I grew up in a suburb of Charlotte, NC called Weddington. For my undergraduate degree I attended UNC Charlotte where I studied chemistry while also on a scholarship for music which has always been a second passion of mine. In undergraduate research I studied optical properties of Quantum Dots. I continued at UNC Charlotte for my master’s degree examining the optical and electronic properties of coupled porphyrin molecules. I am most fortunate now to attend UT with my Fiancée who is currently in the Veterinary School here.
Research
My previous research interests have been in the area of optical spectroscopy for my undergraduate and masters degrees. I am interested now in the avenues provided by my research here and to learn about neutron scattering.
